Maren Halvorsen

Maren grew up in Essex Junction and spent six years as a hospital pharmacy technician before a stubborn shoulder sent her to an acupuncturist. She trained in a three-year master’s program in Boston and opened Stillwater in 2015.

She sees new patients, follow-ups and herbal consults, and she leads the community evenings and free talks. Her rule: explain what you’re doing, say what you don’t know and never promise a cure.

She’s licensed in Vermont and board-certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbology by the NCCAOM. Outside the clinic she’s on a cross-country ski trail or arguing with her sourdough starter.
